In 2015, the famed torchbearers of New Orleans jazz the Preservation Hall Jazz Band embarked on a pilgrimage to connect to the Afro-Caribbean roots of jazz. Their journey to post-embargo Cuba led to the documentary film A Tuba to Cuba, which premiered at the 2019 SXSW Music Festival. Now the film is a concert experience. The multimedia concert features music from the documentary and from the latest Preservation Hall recording So It Is. Special guests from Cuba will join the tour, bringing to life on stage the cultural connections between the people and the countries.
